Andras Schiff - Badass Gentleman of the Week

Hey everyone! It's been a while, but it's time to get back in the swing of things. Let's see, In the meantime, I've swam with whale sharks, explored cenotes, climbed Mayan ruins (tallest in the Yucatan), danced salsa in Cuba, and have been enjoying my time with my wife before our first child is born.

For those of you who don't know Andras Schiff, he's a Hungarian-born classical pianist and conductor. My former piano teacher, Vera Lendvay, knew him through their Franz Lizst Academy days. He's world-renowned, and we had a chance to see him perform at Davies Hall this past Sunday.

What made him badass? Because he performed the entire Well-Tempered Clavier Book 2 by Johann Sebastian Bach. That was over 3 hours of performance! On top of that, he maintained such joy and precision throughout the performance that was truly remarkable. And to top it off, he performed the entire Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1 last week!

So a small reminder to oneself, one can be a badass doing a great number of things. And what could be more gentlemanly than an exquisite tribute to the genius of J.S. Bach?
